Showcasing colt impresses Williams

After securing the unnamed 2yo colt by Showcasing out of Sediciosa at the Arqana Breeze Up Sales in France, we are excited to see him thriving on Australian ground. The colt’s family is well known to OTI, with him being a half-brother to San Huberto – our Group 2 Prix Vicomtesse Vigier winner.

His dam Sediciosa was a three-time winner, one of those at Group 3 level in the Prix de Royaumont. She has produced three winners to date, including San Huberto (Group 2 winner in France), who is likely to feature again in the spring. She is also a half-sister to Suspicieuse, the dam of Group 2 winning sire Dubious. The family includes several black-type performers.

This son of Showcasing is a strong, athletic type with a good shoulder, big girth and hindquarter. He shows a natural forward movement and willingness in his parade with a relaxed temperament, so critical for young middle-distance horses.

Terry Henderson’s thoughts on the colt

The colt is in training with Matthew Williams, who we have enjoyed a long and successful relationship with through horses such as Gailo Chop and Harbour Views. He has arrived at Matt’s Warrnambool base in July and has to this point impressed with his work.

A positive first preparation in Australia would likely see him aimed at stakes targets late in the three-year-old season.
