Mocking Set to Commence Career at The Curragh

The Johnny Murtagh trained 2yo Mocking steps out for the first time this Saturday at The Curragh in Ireland. Drawn the inside barrier, he is in a quality field of maidens all looking to lay foundations for their 3yo season.

Johnny commented this week, “This colt has continued to progress well, both physically and mentally, since arriving across from the French Breeze Ups. Although he is a 3-year-old type, Ben (jockey Ben Coen, who rides the colt on Saturday) was surprised at how much he’s improved over the past 6 weeks. He’ll run a nice race.”

OTI has enjoyed good success with Tamayuz (sire of Mocking) through Gallic Chieftain, a Group 2 winner of over $1.2m, who was unlucky not to have won at the top level. Given the success of the broodmare sire Teofilo, sire of multiple Group 1 Melbourne Cup winners, Mocking is poised to develop into a top young stayer.

We’re excited to see him step out on Saturday and wish our connections all the very best of luck!
