Another exciting OTI horse returning to the races this Saturday is 3yo filly Lady Laguna.
Her first preparation as a 2yo was most promising, winning her first two career starts. Since then she has been a most competitive horse in almost all of her races with a 55% place ratio. Unlucky to not win again since her initial successes, she has raced in multiple black-type races including the Group 1 Golden Slipper.
With a trial win and a second positive jumpout under her belt, Lady Laguna will return in either the Listed Fireball Stakes at Randwick over 1100m or the 1000m 3yo Fillies Handicap at Flemington on Saturday.
Trainer Annabel Neasham, who is quite fond of the filly, said “Her work on Tuesday morning on the course proper was really nice and sharp, she is going very well and is so much stronger this time in. I think she will be very competitive wherever she goes on Saturday. Flemington does seem a much weaker race, but we will decide where exactly she will race closer to the day.”

Should Lady Laguna continue her good form, as we believe she can, her autumn preparation is sure to include more black-type level racing in either New South Wales or Victoria.
Best of luck to all involved for her first race back!
