We were thrilled to secure the half-sister to OTI horse Hezashocka at the Karaka Yearling Sales. Acquired in partnership with the Price/Kent stable, the filly has remained in New Zealand until further plans are made.
The daughter of G1 performing high class Australian sprinter Derryn is a most attractive filly and hopefully she can follow into the footsteps of her successful half-brother Hezashocka, who has proven to be high quality. He surprised most by delivering a third placing in the Group 1 Champion Stakes late last year, beating home both Anamoe and I’m Thunderstruck!
After two winning trials the Hezashocka will return to the races this Saturday at Flemington in the Group 2 Blamey over 1600m. Should he again show his ability, the 5yo would have a most exciting preparation ahead of him, including possible starts in the G1 Australian Cup and the G1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes in Sydney, where he would again take on racing stars Anamoe and I’m Thunderstruck.
“Glad to have this guy back at the races on Saturday! He is a big Flemington horse and I expect he runs well and would love to see his big long stride pick him up in the finish and win! He usually goes well fresh at a mile at a track like this and first up isn’t an issue. I think he’s a good chance over a mile, looking forward to it!,” says trainer Mick Price in his pre-race update.

We are most excited to have another son of Shocking back at the races and hope to see his half-sister doing just a good in the future!
Best of luck to all connections for Saturday!
