I’m Thunderstruck set for Caulfield debut

Exciting three-year-old, I’m Thunderstruck will make his race day debut at Caulfield on Wednesday afternoon.

The son of Shocking steps out for OTI and the Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr stable in a 3yo Maiden over 1200m (Race 3 – 4:50 pm). Michael Dee is booked to ride from barrier four.

OTI’s General Manager Shayne Driscoll commented that the team was excited to see I’m Thunderstruck make his debut and were optimistic of his chances in the race.

“While he has taken a little longer than we anticipated to get to the track, he really settled into his work at the back end of 2020.

“He’s now got two impressive Australian trials under his belt. Plus, he is at his home track, so he has got a few things going for him.

“We think he will be extremely competitive,” he added.

3yo gelding, I'm Thunderstruck debuts at Caulfield tomorrow

I’m Thunderstruck was acquired by OTI in partnership with Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr, in New Zealand in August last year.

Since the gelding arrived in Australia, the stable has taken a patient approach with him, bypassing the spring. He instead enjoyed a short spell before easing into work, where he has consistently impressed the stable.

OTI is hoping to see I’m Thunderstruck demonstrate his staying prowess on debut. Should he run to expectations, the team has one eye on guineas targets in the autumn.

I Am Ready also represents OTI at Caulfield tomorrow, when she contests an 1100m Maiden (Race 2 – 4:15 pm) for Lloyd Kennewell, with Joe Bowditch jumping from barrier eight.

The team at OTI wishes I’m Thunderstruck and I Am Ready’s owners the best of luck tomorrow!
