OTI race Siyouni colt with Christophe Ferland

When the opportunity to acquire a well-bred Siyouni colt with all the attributes of a star arose, the OTI team had no hesitation in securing him.

The colt’s striking physique and excellent bloodlines immediately captured OTI’s CEO Terry Henderson’s interest.

“He is beautifully conformed, with an impressive, muscular frame and his breeding is exceptional,” Henderson said.

“Since being broken in with France’s leading educator, Philip Baratte, and commencing work with Christophe Ferland, he has really furnished into himself and is starting to demonstrate his potential” he added.

The colt entered the Bordeaux stables of Group 1 winning trainer, Christophe Ferland late last year and has settled seamlessly into his work. All reports from the stable indicate that the colt is doing everything right and continues to go from strength to strength in his work.

Henderson said that the colt should race as a two-year-old in the European summer, before hopefully developing into a classic three-year-old type and then ideally moving up to Group level.

The colt descends from a superior bloodline. His sire, three-time Group 1 winner Siyouni, was crowned France’s Champion Sire of 2020. Siyouni’s stallion credentials continue to grow, with his top-class progeny featuring six Group 1 winners including Arc de Triomphe winner Sottsass and French Oaks winner Laurens.

The colt’s dam side is also of high quality, being out of winning mare Sailor Moon, who has already produced two Stakes winners. Sailor Moon is also a half-sister to the dam of Contributer who won the Group 1 Chipping Norton and Group 1 Ranvet Stakes.
