As the spring nears an end, there is still time for us to add additional silverware by way of the Ballarat Cup. The Ballarat-based Future Score will be our representative for on-course trainer Matt Cumani.
Since his first up run at Flemington on Melbourne Cup Day, where he finished 7th in the Listed Cup Day Plate, the 8yo gelding has come along well according to Cumani.
“He still has a bit of condition on him, but that last run helped him to tighten up and he looks great. He holds himself very nicely and above all is enthusiastic in is work and sound. He had a really good gallop on the course proper on the weekend and is in good order”, says trainer Matt Cumani.
The current track rating shows a soft 7, which shouldn’t be any concern for Future Score as he’s showed he is comfortable on a soft track, even better if it dries out a little bit more.
The 8yo son of Cape Cross has represented us well over the journey, recording 6 wins and 9 placings from his 30 starts. One of his highlights was winning the Cranbourne Cup in late 2020. Having placed in multiple Group races, we hope he can return to his best form and show a positive performance in the Ballarat Cup.

Best of luck to all involved!
