Exciting Britannia Stakes winner Docklands returns at Ascot

After a thrilling 2023 season, highlighted by a win at Royal Ascot in the Britannia Stakes, four-year-old entire Docklands will get his campaign underway in the Listed Queen Anne Stakes trial over 1600m at Ascot on Wednesday, where he has drawn barrier 5 in a field of 5.

Docklands wins the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot in 2023.

Docklands has put together a strong body of work through his career and trainer Harry Eustace sees the Listed event over a mile as the perfect opportunity to get his campaign underway.

Eustace and the team have set their sights on several targets for the preparation, with another appearance and strong showing at the Royal Ascot Carnival in June being the first one to tick off. Given he’s taking his place in the Trial, Docklands has been entered for the 1600m Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes, but could be aimed at a race like the Listed Wolferton Stakes.

If everything goes as planned, the attention will turn to Australia late in the year, with Docklands poised to make the trek down under for a race like the $2m Five Diamonds over 1800m for five-year-olds only at Randwick in November.
