Docklands draws midfield for the Britannia Stakes

Docklands has drawn a midfield position for Thursday’s Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot, earning Barrier 18 in an initial field of 30 plus 3 reserves. Drawing in the middle of the track for the straight mile, jockey Hayley Turner will have plenty of options through the early and middle stages before looking to make her run to the line.

Harry Eustace is delighted with our colt’s form at home and his confidence has been reflected in the betting market, with Docklands currently on the second line of betting at 12-1 in various markets. The favorite in the race, Quantum Impact, is an 8-1 chance following his brave win at York late in May. No doubt his popularity is enhanced with the booking of legend, Frankie Dettori to ride. In what is a significant pointer to the openness of the race, all 33 horses are listed at 50-1 or less.

A previous winner over the course and distance, by an outstanding 6.5 lengths in May, Docklands will have many punters and experts in his corner. Should he win, he will be OTI’s first ever winner at Royal Ascot.

The excitement is rising, and we can’t wait for 5pm on Thursday (2am Friday AEST).
