Docklands’ connections have every right to be excited

The group of OTI owners attend Royal Ascot today are full of anticipation and are rightfully excited. The focus of that excitement is the 3yo colt, Docklands who will take his place in the in the Britannia Stakes.

In his short racing career, Docklands has been impressive. Winning two races and being second in his other two, it is little wonder he will start one of the favourites in the race. His most impressive effort was his last start win over the same distance, and at the same track just over a month ago. Against a quality field he won by six lengths, running away.

Harry Eustace, the brother of David, has already developed a reputation as an astute young trainer. He’s been most patient with his colt and placed him so that he continues to learn his craft with each race. While a little more sting out of the ground would be welcome, Harry is delighted with the horse’s condition and confident that he will run a top race.

A win in the race will serve to heighten the excitement of all his owners whether they be at Ascot, back home in Australia or travelling around Europe. It would mean that the horse could potentially target races like the Golden Eagle in Australian spring.

As we all know in racing, results do not always eventuate as one would wish. However today, the owners at Royal Ascot will not only have a unique and pleasurable experience, but hopefully, they will also be taken to the heights of the racing world and being able to welcome a winner back to the mounting yard -or as the English call it, The Paddock.
