Two last start winners heading to Canterbury

Two of our impressive last start winners, She’s Unusual and The Creator, will be back at the races on Wednesday at Canterbury Park.

She’s Unusual, who was OTI’s 100th winner for the season, was most impressive first-up at Newcastle two weeks ago.

“She did a wonderful job winning that race. She’s come through the run particularly well and we have accepted for two races on Wednesday.”, said trainer John O’Shea.

She’s Unusual wins at Newcastle on June 15, 2024.

The 4yo mare’s options on Wednesday include a BM64, where she is currently 2nd emergency and a BM70, where she’s drawn barrier 3 in a field of 10 + 2 emergencies with Kerrin McEvoy booked to ride at 55kgs. Both races will be run over a distance of 1550m.

Should She’s Unusual take her place in the BM70, she will race against The Creator, who is also a last start winner for the OTI colours. The Creator last won at Canterbury two weeks ago over the same distance as Wednesday’s race and has trained on well.

The Creator wins at Newcastle on June 19, 2024.

“He’s a good soft track horse, the track is currently heavy, but we will be there and running, He is in good order, he is nice and fresh and obviously the course and distance suits. Molly Bourke will ride and claims 3kg, which brings him to 60kg on the day. Training wise he is spot on.”, commented trainer Mick Price.

We wish all connections involved the best of luck for Wednesday’s race.
