The True Essence of Racing

While often deserved, the media’s treatment of racing frequently projects
the unsavoury aspects of our great sport. Therefore, when a note like the
one below arrives on our CEO’s desk, it deserves promotion.

The true essence of racing is people like Olivia. She’s not unique as there
are many with the same passion she has for horses. We owe so much to people
like her as they are the ones that portray everything we love about racing
and the horses that serve it.

Note from Lee Evison (equine rehabilitation specialist):

Hi Terry

I just want to share this with you because it’s not often things like this
happen but a young girl called Olivia Ludeman who works for Weiry drove from
Warrnambool today (300 kilometres) on her only day off just to give Gailo a
pat and hug and some carrots. She was here for about an hour and a half and
had a genuine love for him. I thought she was going to cry when she saw him
and was really interested in how he was going in his rehab and could she
visit him again on one of her days off.

As an employer and also a love of horses myself,  I was very impressed with Olivia going this far out of her way it just shows that it’s more than a job to some.

Cheers Lee
