Southern Rock Digs Deep to Score Another Win at Ripon

Southern Rock dug deep overnight at Ripon (UK) to take out the Class 3 Handicap over 1970m. The bank holiday meeting was set at one of the oldest cities in England and hosted a large crowd for an exciting day of racing.

In what was a tough grind to the line, Southern Rock was hot on the heels of Mark Johnston trained The Trader for much of the race. Both horses were head to head for the final furlong, before Southern Rock was able to put his neck out and score the win.

The New Approach gelding has done exceptionally well since joining the David O’Meara stables and at just three-years-old, looks to have a very bright future ahead.
