Sevenna’s Knight heading to Dubai

OTI will look to make its presence felt globally over the Easter break after Sevenna’s Knight received an invitation to attend the Dubai World Cup meeting for Andre Fabre.

Set to contest the US$1m Dubai Gold Cup run over two miles, Sevenna’s Knight will hope for a more genuine pace throughout than that he found in his seasonal debut at Chantilly earlier this month. Settling toward the rear of the field, the race was run at a moderate speed only and developed into a sprint home. Sevenna’s Knight’s effort to finish 4th had great merit and will hold him in good stead for his valuable Dubai target.

The likely fields for the World Cup night program have been released and, as expected, the Gold Cup invitation list has great depth and quality. Coolmore’s Tower of London for Aiden O’Brien, and Godolphin’s Trawlerman for John and Thady Gosden, head the early markets for the race, with Sevenna’s Knight considered one of the longer shots to be taking out the race, currently 20-1. Upon return to France following his Dubai tilt, Sevenna’s Knight will continue to progress his career towards a likely trip to Melbourne in the spring, where the Melbourne Cup is his logical target.
