Seixas set for debut for Sir Mark Todd

Promising Footstepsinthesand filly, Seixas will make her debut at Chelmsford in the U.K tonight.

The two-year-old will kick off her career in a 1200m 2yo Fillies race (Race 1 – 3:00 am AEDT) with David Probert riding from barrier seven.

Dual Olympic gold medallist-turned horse trainer, Sir Mark Todd has praised the filly since she arrived at his Lambourne stables in July.

Todd commented on her speediness and athleticism early in her education and added that he was exceptionally pleased with her progress in just four months.

OTI’s General Manager Shayne Driscoll said that the team were looking forward to seeing Seixas carry the navy and gold silks for the first time.

“She’s only two years old, but she’s already developed into a lovely filly. From all accounts, it looks like she has thrived at Lambourne,” he said.

“Mark relayed that she’s been doing everything right in her work, so we’re expecting her to put in a good effort for her new ownership group.”

OTI secured the chestnut filly at the Tattersalls Breeze Up Sale in Ireland in July after she displayed her outstanding athletic abilities.

Out of the Exceed and Excel mare, Miss Brazil, Seixas hails from a classy female family. She is a full sister to a dual-Stakes winner Elaire Noire, and each of her past four dams have produced Stakes winners.

OTI wishes her Australian and English connections the best of luck!
