Rosehill

French import, Rider In The Snow is second-up for the Kris Lees stable in a Benchmark 78 over 2400m (Race 2 – 1:50 pm). Lees has been exceptionally pleased with his work at home, commenting that the step up in trip should suit and he should give a good account of himself. With James McDonald riding from barrier 5, we’re anticipating that he will run well and figure in the finish.

The seven-year-old Fastnet Rock gelding is at peak fitness and goes into the race in fantastic shape according to Waller. With James McDonald riding from barrier 3, we anticipate that he will put in a strong showing and be very hard to beat.

The Valley

In Melbourne, Barade steps out in a Benchmark 90 over 2040m (Race 7 – 4:40 pm) for Archie Alexander. He’ll be looking to make it back-to-back victories following a classy win at Flemington on Stakes Day. Alexander commented that he is in excellent form and we expect him to be very competitive. Declan Bates rides from barrier 10.

Warrnambool

At Jericho Cup Day on Sunday, Darvin is first-up in a Benchmark 64 over 1400m (Race 9 – 5:30 pm) after a spell. All reports from the Matthew Williams stable indicate that the Le Havre gelding has been working well at home and is in great order going into the race. We expect to see him hitting the line well and he’ll take improvement from the run. Jordan Childs rides from barrier 1.
