San Huberto | The Globe Trotter Ready to Return

For a horse that has had only 15 starts, San Huberto has certainly travelled the world.

Commencing his career in France, the promising stayer won two Listed races in his first five starts as a 3yo. On the back of his form, he headed to New York for the Belmont Derby on turf. There he ran a most creditable 3rd finishing behind Spanish Mission (now with Peter Moody).

Back in France he continued to do well, winning the G2, 3000m Prix Vicomtesse Vigier.

He then came to Australia for the 2020 Spring Carnival. A disappointing result in the Geelong Cup was followed by a strong third in the Sandown Cup. Following a short break he resumed in the autumn of 2021 with a good 2nd in the Victoria Cup. After finishing midfield in the G1 Australia Cup, he was found to have a suspensory injury. As a result, he has spent time rehabilitating with Matthew Williams at Warrnambool.

After two good jump outs, San Huberto has returned to Matt Cumani and is now ready to relaunch his career, starting with the 1700m Handicap on Saturday. Dean Yendall will again be on board in the hope he can take him through to the major staying races.

Co-owned with Marc and Nicolas de Chambure in France, San Huberto is a stunning looking stallion. His owners now all hope that those looks will be matched by his on track performances.

Best of luck to all connections!
