OTI’s AJC Derby winner Quick Thinker will start his second season at stud in the coming months, with a view to increasing his service numbers for Tasmania’s Motree Thoroughbreds.
Paraded on Sunday at Motree’s Open Day alongside Turffontein and Yulong Prince, the Group 1 winning 6yo was in fine form, his physique and gleaming brown coat on full display as he put on a show for onlookers.
A son of So You Think, Quick Thinker was a Listed winner as a 2yo; a Group 1, 2 and 3-winner as a 3yo; and a Group 2 winner again racing on as a four-year-old. He has quality too on the Dam side, as a half-brother to the Group 3 winner Seasons.
Given the High Chaparral/Sadlers Wells bloodlines of his sire, Quick Thinker would be a most suitable bloodline cross for many different mares.
On the back of a modest first season at stud in which he served 24 mares, Mandy Gunn and the team at Motree will be looking for the stallion’s bookings to at least double in number. OTI Racing will again support him at stud with some quality, city-winning mares.
