Honrado gallops up the Peat Moss

Recently acquired 2yo colt Honrado, by Lope de Vega, is showing lovely potential as he works towards a race debut in the coming months. Most recently, he pleased in company when working on the Peat Moss Gallop in Newmarket.

Honrado galloping up the Peat Moss with Hayley Turner on board in early July.

After a recommendation from trainer Michael Bell, we purchased the colt at the Arqana Breeze Up Sale in May, and have since only grown in confidence.

With a muscular build, standing 15.2 hands, the colt has the look of a 1600m type. Michael has indicated he’s the type of colt who could race in August, in the hope he would be ready for stakes races later in the year.

We have enjoyed the existing relationship with Michael Bell through Banderas, also by Lope de Vega, a most promising three-year-old for this season. Bell has been patient with Banderas and has placed him particularly well, with the 3yo winning at Chester in mid-May.

Honrado could join us in Australia at the end of his 3yo year depending on race options in both Europe and Australia.

He’s a colt who possesses the necessary bloodlines to be a Classic horse. When matched with the athleticism and speed that he’s already displayed in the breeze, and his work in Newmarket, he is fast becoming a most exciting prospect.
