We were delighted to secure Zweig in partnership with Annabel Neasham last week. Recently inspected by Terry, Gus and agents Emmanuel de Seroux and Hubie de Burgh in Deauville, he immediately presented as a colt of great appeal.
“We were very impressed with him on inspection. He is a lovely type with development to come. He’s improving each time he steps out.” ~ Terry
This athletic son of Churchill is an imposing type, presenting with an ideal, lightly raced profile to train on in Australia.
After finishing 3rd on debut as a 2yo, he was very unlucky not to win his second start over 2000m, and has not been beaten since. He’s shown the ability to make both a sustained run from behind, as well as doing it all from the front.
Zweig wins the Listed Derby du Languedoc at Toulouse in May 2024.
The 3yo is expected to arrive in Australia in mid-August and on expected timings, it would not surprise to see him feature at the end of the spring, and naturally lofty goals can be set for 2025.
We look forward to seeing his career unfold in Australia with our new partners involved, as well as the team at Annabel Neasham Racing.
