A Preview: Warrnambool Day 2

As the Warrnambool Carnival rolls into its second day, OTI will again have a strong hand.

Renew has been somewhat of a revolution since commencing his jumping career for Darren Weir. On Wednesday, 7YO Sandown Cup winning son of Dansili will attempt to win the prestigious Galleywood Hurdle at just his third jumps start.

At his first attempt over the jumps Renew bypassed a Maiden field and tackled a BM120 race at Warrnambool. He jumped well and quickly took control of the race on the point of the home bend, racing away to win by a widening ten lengths.

Jockey, John Allen, was again on board when Renew travelled to Oakbank when he put in another faultless jumping display to win with consummate ease.

Wednesday undoubtedly poses Renew’s toughest hurdling test but he goes into the contest off a strong trial win at Warrnambool on April 26. The Weir stable have reported he’s in tremendous order and there’s no doubt he will acquit himself very well up in grade.

Kellstorm, an Irish-bred son of Galilelo, will make his first Australian appearance over 1400M (Race 4 – 12.50pm). Also trained by Darren Weir, the 4YO entire will be more proficient as the distances get longer, but we look forward to seeing him step out in the OTI colours.

It promises to be another huge day at the ‘Bool and we wish our partners all the best with both runners.
