Shane B Kelly predicts Ottoman Emperor is going to do “big things” and it is hard to argue with that view after watching the exciting Excelebration colt complete the hat-trick in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race.
You would love to have Ottoman Emperor’s attitude – the tougher it gets, the more he wants it. He is already a warrior when he gets into a battle and this time he gunned down the smooth-travelling Tazaral, who touched a low of 1.23 on Betfair.
The winning jockey was certainly impressed and is looking forward to seeing what Ottoman Emperor does next.
Kelly said: “He’s on the improve and seems to be getting better with racing. He’s exciting and loves to battle. He’s a bit idle, but then something comes to him and he loves to fight.
“I think he’s going to do big things and will probably stay further as well. You’d like to have him going forward anyway.”
OTI note: Johnny Murtagh will now assess whether the colt steps up to Group racing or is held back for one of the big handicaps later in the year.
