Saturday 3rd July

Flemington

Current Track Rating: Soft

Haky

2600m Banjo Paterson Series Final (Race 3, 1:00 PM) | T: Archie Alexander | J: Declan Bates | W: 60kg, Barrier 10 – Saddlecloth 1

Although this looks quite a tough race, Haky has worked well since his last run. Archie believes he is a very good place chance.

Romancer

1200m Listed Victorian Sprint Series Final (Race 8, 4:05pm) | T: Grahame Begg, J: Lachlan Neindorf W: 58kg, Barrier 11 – Saddlecloth 2

Following his last win at odds of 100/1, Romancer has been saved for this race. If he gets cover in the run and can be held up for the last 300m, Grahame believes he’ll be most competitive.

Rosehill

Current Track Rating: Heavy

Sound of Cannons

2400m BM78 (Race 3, 12:10PM) | T: John O’Shea, J: Brenton Avdulla, W: 54.5kg Barrier 7, Saddlecloth  8

Loaded with natural ability, Sound of Cannons has been frustrating for his owners. With a few minor gear changes, John O’Shea believes he’s well-placed to run well.

Newcastle

Current Track Rating: Soft

Akatino

1880m BM64 (Race 4, 2:20PM) | T: Matthew Smith | J: Koby Jennings | W: 58.5kg, Barrier 7 – Saddlecloth 7

Down in class, Akatino gets the chance to record his first win on Australian soil. His work has been solid and this looks an ideal race for him.

Sunday 4th July

Limerick (IRE)

Catena Zapata

1600m 3yo+ Hcp | T: Henry De Bromhead | W: 9-4

Resuming after being gelded, this looks an ideal race for the son of Vadamos. He is then likely to head to Australia.

Castera-Verduzan (FR)

Schwanensee

2400m Class 4 | T: Antoine de Watrigant | W: 58.5kgs

Unlucky not to win at her most recent outing, the mare looks well-placed to breakthrough for a patient group of owners. Antoine has been happy with her work leading into this event.
