OTI is well represented at Ballarat on Wednesday as two runners contest races at the midweek meeting.
Darvin takes his place in a BM70 over 2000m (Race 6 – 3:20pm). The 4yo son of Le Havre was first seen in Australia over the Warrnambool Carnival. Trainer Matt Williams expects to see good improvement second up. He’s likely to be ridden back in the field in the hope he’ll find the line strongly.
Trench Warfare is looking to keep his perfect record intact in a 1600m BM64 (Race 8 – 4:30pm). An impressive winner on debut over 1300m at Geelong, the mile has been identified as a logical progression by trainer Matt Cumani for his second race start. He’s expected to run very well and lay a foundation for the Mahogany Series in June.
At Randwick, My Swashbuckler will have his Australian debut under the control of Kris Lees (Race 7 – 4:20pm). Although the progressive 5yo will derive great benefit from the race, his work leading in suggests a forward showing would not surprise.
Best of luck to all connections!
