OTI chasing first winner of 2020 this weekend

An unusually quiet weekend awaits OTI, albeit not without a chance of gaining our first winner of 2020.

Miss Carboni kicks off proceedings at Cranbourne on Friday night in the 1300m Class 1 event for Archie Alexander and team. She’s fitter for her first-up run at Echuca and looks to have trained on nicely. We hope to see her roll forward and show the ability we believe she possesses.

We launch a two-pronged attack on the 2400m BM78 at Randwick Kensington on Saturday, where both Artarmon and Dark Pearl compete with a real chance of capturing a win.

Dark Pearl steps-up in distance for the Waller team, which should suit, and he heads into the race a very fit horse. Artarmon is now fourth-up in Australia for Matthew Smith and looks ready to peak after presenting like the winner at Flemington last start before his fitness levels let him down.

On Sunday, Sollevare is our lone runner when he resumes at Warrnambool in the 1700m BM64. It’s his first start since entering the care of Matthew Williams, with the run sure to set him up nicely for races 2000m and beyond, which are certainly more to his liking.

Best of luck to all involved!
