New acquisition makes for an exciting weekend ahead

OTI is delighted to announce our newest acquisition, the talented and well-bred 3yo New Zealand filly, Hasstobegood, who headlines this weekend’s proceedings.

She’s by the top NZ stallion Per Incanto and the filly’s grand-dam is the Champion NZ mare, Plume. She’ll make her OTI debut this Sunday at Ellerslie in the 1500m 3yo (SWP) race as a lead-up run into the Karaka Millions on the 25th of January. She’s been stakes placed on multiple occasions and looks a most exciting racing and breeding prospect.

Skipping backwards to Friday night, we have two runners under lights in Victorian and Queensland respectively.

Fioretical steps out in the 1600m Maiden second-up this preparation, after showing slight improvement first-up over an unsuitable journey. He’ll appreciate the rise in distance and will hopefully be hitting the line well to encourage a step-up to 2000m and beyond in his coming runs.

Mighty Quinn will take his place in the 1800m Class 3 at Sunshine Coast tonight, of which is a track and distance he ran well at two starts ago. He’ll look to roll forward and dictate terms, with the role of leader presenting as the best way to see him be competitive in his races.

We only have the one runner on Saturday, albeit a runner who provides us with a great deal of excitement. Future Score, who has been in terrific form this preparation, steps out in the 2000m Open Handicap at Flemington following a game 2nd to Odeon in the Listed Lord Stakes on Boxing Day. The rise to 2000m looks ideal, and he gets to a track that he already has a great association with. There’s no doubt he’ll use every inch of the straight to run down his competition.

Best of luck to their connections!
