Pick ‘N’ Mix is proving herself to be a 3yo with great upside, with the daughter of Turn Me Loose winning two of her three career starts up to 1200m. Not seen at the races since her impressive Geelong win in January, she has spelled well and trialled nicely on two occasions in the lead up to her return, winning a jump out at Bendigo in May before a soft 2nd placing in another jump out at Ararat earlier in June.
Pick ‘N’ Mix wins her trial at Bendigo (OTI silks, orange cap).
Tony & Calvin McEvoy have two options regarding the location of Pick ‘N’ Mix’s race return this week. They have accepted to run on Tuesday on their hometown synthetic surface at Ballarat in a Benchmark 70 Handicap over 1000m, with the other option being a Benchmark 74 Handicap for Fillies & Mares over 1000m at Sandown on Wednesday.
The short-term target for Pick ‘N’ Mix is the Listed Creswick Stakes at Flemington on July 5. The stable has the luxury of picking the best lead-up race for her to make that field. A prominent favourite in the Ballarat event on Tuesday, racing on the home track may be too hard to pass up, despite the lure of the additional midweek city prizemoney on offer at Sandown.

Best of luck to her connections for both her first-up assignment and the exciting Listed target that awaits.
