After a successful 2yo season, Lady Laguna will kick off her 3yo campaign with the Group 3 Neds Quezette Stakes on Saturday at Caulfield with Ben Melham booked to ride.
The filly by Overshare has shown plenty of speed in her previous races, but Saturday’s race will show if she will continue to race over sprint distance or follow the path to a 1000 Guineas campaign.
Probably the most exciting start last season was in the G1 Golden Slipper, where she battled against some of the strongest two-year-olds in the country.
According to trainer Annabel Neasham, the filly has worked well Melbourne Way and is ready to kick off her preparation on Saturday. With some rain expected for the weekend, the conditions should turn out good for her first up run.
