I’m Thunderstruck makes his much-anticipated return

I’m Thunderstruck; a most exciting New Zealand-bred gelding who joined OTI in August of 2020 is set to make his race return at Sale tomorrow over 1200m (Race 6 – 2:50 pm).

After winning impressively on debut over the same distance at Caulfield in January, the Shocking three-year-old went on to the Group Two Autumn Stakes, where he did nothing to disappoint his trainers Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr.

Though he was unplaced in the race, he only bolstered the opinion of not only his trainers and OTI but proved to be a promising horse with a lot more to give with some race experience.

“It was a great effort by the horse”, said Michael Kent Jnr.

“He ran well”, added his jockey, Michael Dee. “It was a nice relaxing run; he presented but just got tired.”

Returning from a six-week spell, I’m Thunderstruck has come back an even bigger and better horse this preparation, leaving Mick Price more than confident in his ability.

“He is an even better horse than last time,”

“I love the horse, and I think he is going to go through the grades and progress into a really exciting horse,” said Price.

Comments that were echoed by co-trainer Michael Kent Jnr who added, “He has improved physically and in his ability on the track,”

“He is a beautiful mover and is quite exciting”.

Having strengthened up nicely for his time off, he returned to trial form with an exciting win at Caulfield last month and now looks in excellent order heading back to the races.

We look forward to his much-anticipated return tomorrow. With the combination of Mick Price’s confidence in his ability and masterful jockey Mark Zahra set to ride, we expect I’m Thunderstruck will be highly competitive.
