Hellbent colt out of Galileo mare to join Price Kent stable

OTI is delighted to offer a precocious Hellbent colt, out of Galileo mare, Colourmegal.

After the colt passed in at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale, OTI chose to retain and race him with trainers Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr.

OTI’s General Manager Shayne Driscoll said the team were excited to offer the superbly bred colt and once again partner with the Price and Kent stable.

“In addition to his high-quality breeding, he is a lovely youngster with a relaxed temperament which is always a plus for a colt. His action is smooth, he moves fluently and is perfectly balanced. The combination of his bloodlines and athletic physique make him exceptional value,” Driscoll said.

“Mick Price is renowned for getting the best out of youngsters, so we are confident that he and Michael Kent will give the colt every opportunity to flourish.”

A Group 1 winning son of I Am Invincible, Hellbent, who stands at Yarraman Park, is tipped to become a top stallion. As a first-season sire, Hellbent made waves at recent yearling sales in Australia.

In January, at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale, Hellbent progeny in Book 1 averaged $185,000, with his top lot selling for $500,000. Hellbent’s sire statistics at this month’s Inglis Classic Yearling Sale were also impressive, with his lots in Book 1 averaging over $100,000 and his top lot going under the hammer for $300,000.

This impressive colt combines the sought after breeding of Hellbent, with his dam’s top-class bloodlines. A daughter of champion stallion Galileo, Colourmegal is a three-quarter sister to Group 1 placegetter, Aloft. OTI’s two-time Group 3 winner Le Juge descends from the same family.

The colt has now commenced his break-in education and is poised to race as a two-year-old later this year.

With all costs, including insurance paid up to July 31, 2021, a 5% interest in the colt is $5,900 plus GST.
