Group 2 assignment awaits Sevenna’s Knight on Sunday week

Sevenna’s Knight attracted his fair share of attention last month after running away a dominant 8 length winner of the Group 3 Prix de Barbeville at Longchamp. With the likes of Group 1 winner Double Major in behind, our entire by Camelot stamped himself as a stayer to watch.

Sevenna’s Knight’s connections were delighted to hear earlier in the week how well the entire had come through his commanding victory, with trainer Andre Fabre now setting his sights on a valuable assignment on May 26. The 3100m Group 2 Prix Vicomtesse Vigier, won by OTI’s San Huberto back in 2020, presents as an ideal stepping stone for the stayer.

The Melbourne Cup could well be on the radar later in the season, but the entire may be tested over 2400m in the interim, with Andre not ruling out a tilt at the Group 1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud at the end of June.

Much will be learnt over the next two months as to what heights Sevenna’s Knight may reach this season. For now, we keenly await his Group 2 assignment on Sunday week!
