We have yet another busy weekend of runners across the globe, highlighted by two possible starters in the Group 3 Chairman’s Handicap at Doomben.
Regal Lion, who missed out on a run last weekend due to heavy track conditions, will take his place in the Group 3 over 2000m on Saturday. After finishing 2nd in his last two starts, including the Listed Albury Cup, the gelding is in good form and is ready for another strong performance.
“He had a gallop here at Doomben on Tuesday and he got through the heavy conditions, but he’ll enjoy the drying track. He’s fit and ready to go, having barely had a blow on pulling up.”, commented Todd Pollard, who runs Annabel’s Eagle Farm stable.
Also accepted for the Group 3 Chairman’s Handicap is Stuck With You. After winning at Eagle Farm two starts ago, the 8yo didn’t get many favours last start and is much better suited back to 2000m. He’s come through that run well and has enjoyed the space between runs.
Stuck With You wins at Eagle Farm two starts ago.
“I’m very happy with him, he is still bouncing even though he’s fairly deep into his preparation now. He has a good level of fitness and is in a great headspace. He worked well over the last week and we look forward to seeing him step out over the 2000m.”, said trainer Matt Dunn to owners. Although a tough ask at Group 3 level, he was unlucky not to be in the finish in the Chairman’s last year off a similar build up.

Best of luck to all connections involved in our two stakes runners. Our full weekend preview video will be out later this week!
