Full Of Sincerity chases NZ Group 2

Not too long ago OTI secured the progressive 3yo New Zealand-based gelding Full Of Sincerity, who looks to have some makings of a Derby contender. Still with trainer Andrew Forsman, who was keen to guide the horse towards the NZ Derby, Full Of Sincerity will step up to black-type racing for the first time on Wednesday.

After two very good placings in his first career starts, the 3yo broke his maiden at his third start at Avondale in late November last year.

“He is a very nice, progressive horse. It’s his first preparation with us and I think he will improve from preparation to preparation. He looks a really promising staying type,” said trainer Andrew Forsman after the win to NZ Racing News.

After a preparatory run over a mile in January, Full Of Sincerity will start in the Group 2 Waikato Guineas this Wednesday, possibly leading into the Group 2 Avondale Guineas two weeks later. Should he prove to be competitive in these feature events, a start in the New Zealand Derby on March 3 would be most likely.

Should he measure up in the above mentioned races, valuable targets in Australia will then be firmly on
the agenda. Races such as the Group 1 Australian Derby and Group 1 Queensland Derby would be considered.

Best of luck to all connections for Wednesday’s race!
