Fastnet Latina kicks off a big weekend for OTI

Fastnet Latina heads to Moonee Valley on Friday night looking to extend on his unbeaten record in Australia.

This horse is part of a large group of Fastnet Rock’s raced around the globe by OTI and its partners. Having started his career with Christophe Clement in the USA, Fastnet Latina suffered a tendon injury and was transported to Australia where Lee Evison nursed him back to full health.

Talented English-born trainer Archie Alexander has displayed great patience in getting Fastnet Latina to the races and he’s been rewarded with immediate racetrack success.

Fastnet Latina was dominant when breaking his maiden first-up at Terang before overcoming an interrupted passage to prove too strong at BM64 level at Sandown.

Given time to get over that last run and prepare for the 1600M at Moonee Valley, Alexander reports Fastnet Latina is in tremendous order ahead of the rise in grade. Alexander is keen for jockey, Jordan Childs to be positive in the small field and hopefully, take luck out of the equation.

Hopefully Fastnet Latina can make it three in a row for partners and get the ball rolling on what is a big weekend for OTI.

Red Shift and Duke Of Ellington both head to Flemington for the unique ‘Grand Handicap’ (Race 6) to be run over 2000M and both look competitive chances. In Adelaide, the Tony McEvoy trained Zapping resumes over 1400M at Morphetville (Race 2) on the back of a strong trial.

It’s a big ‘long weekend’ for OTI’s partners and we hope there’s much success to report on next week.
