Exciting French import, Sous Les Nuages, has joined OTI and is bound for the Matt Cumani stable.
This consistent four-year-old gelding was highly recommended by John Hammond his previous trainer Andre Fabre. The son of Holy Roman Emperor boasts an impressive record of two wins, four minor placings and four fourths from just 11 career starts.
Having already won at 2000m and 2700m, he has demonstrate versatility by prevailing on both left and right-handed tracks.
Hailing from a proven family, Sous Les Nuages boasts a group performed pedigree. He is by the same sire as Champion 3YO Mongolian Khan, who was the first horse in history to win the New Zealand Derby and ATC Derby. Adding to his already impressive bloodline, he is also a half-brother to Soleil Marin, a Group 3 winner in France.
Standing at 16hh, Sous Les Nuages is a handsome and athletic individual who will suit Australian racing. He is set to arrive in Australia in mid-June and will immediately commence work with Matt Cumani. Coincidentally, Cumani, who also trains top OTI gallopers Future Score and San Huberto, secured 50% of the horse for private clients.
OTI General Manager, Shayne Driscoll, believes Sous Les Nuages will be competitive in a host of local feature events.
“With his proven ability over distance, he will be an ideal candidate for the Cups and other high-quality feature races,” Driscoll said.
We are excited for the future of this young horse and are fortunate to have secured him at this stage of his career, being so lightly raced but showing a lot of potential.
