Exciting daughter of Frankel returns

It’s been almost a year since we last saw Fretta at the races, winning on debut at Sandown in most impressive fashion.

After enjoying a well-deserved spell prior to a resumption of work for the autumn, Fretta’s preparation was cut short following the detection of minor bone chips in a knee that required removal. A lengthy spell ensued before a return to the stables in August to begin a new campaign and she has been pleasing in her work ever since.

Fretta has had two satisfying trials at Cranbourne in the lead up to her race return this Sunday. She finished second in her latest jumpout with Jamie Kah on board, beaten a nose under little riding.

“Her action was perfect, she had a little bit of a blow, but was very pleasing for the amount of time she had off. I felt like she had plenty left to give even after the line.”, said jockey Jamie Kah.

“She is a beautiful mare with a big, long stride, she’s clean winded, lovely and sound. I think she has a lot of natural ability and she’s going really well. I look forward to a pretty good performance on Sunday.”, commented Mick Price to owners.

Fretta will most likely take her place in the Benchmark 0-64 at Bendigo over 1600m. The big track and distance should suit her well. See the full field and all race details here.

Best of luck to all connections of Fretta and hopefully she can continue her first up record.
