Chaillot trials perfectly in preparation for Adelaide

Archie Alexander trained mare Chaillot trialled up nicely at Avoca on Monday (19th April 2021) morning, surging home from last, she did what she had to do without exerting herself too much to run a nice second under John Allen. “When I clicked her up for the last 400m and asked her to finish off, she was strong through the line. She seems to be coming on nicely and should be ready for Adelaide,” said Allen.

After a short freshen up at Cheryl Weller’s property at Hastings in early March, where she accessed the beach facilities and enjoyed the change of scenery, Chaillot returned to Archie Alexander in excellent order.

Terry Henderson, who was on course for the trial, commented on the four-year-old’s professionalism “She was a bit full of herself in the tie-ups beforehand, but when she got out onto the track, she was a true professional and went into the gates well.”

OTI acquired a 50% interest in the Testa Rossa mare as an unbeaten two-year-old, recording two wins from two starts. She has since gone on to win four of her eight starts, including the Group Three Tressady Stakes at Flemington in February this year.
