Can OTI win back-to-back Werribee Cups?

The Werribee Cup was just one of four Country Cups that OTI’s Tall Ship won for Darren Weir last year.

This year, Darren has five horses nominated for the race including OTI’s well known Lidari and Master Zephyr. Master Zephyr is coming into this race with good form, after a solid performance at Moonee Valley two-weeks ago. After a few, less than ideal runs at the start of his prep, he seems to be in peak condition. Ben Allen takes the ride again with only 54kg, he has drawn barrier 7 of 13. Just like Tall Ship, Master Zephyr won the Terang Cup this year with ease, showing a fantastic turn of foot.

Lidari is coming into this race following a quiet few weeks after he failed to deliver in the Ballarat Cup, finishing 12th. He has had two good performances this preparation including a 3rd in the Gr3 Eclipse Stakes and a 2nd in the Group 2 Crystal Mile, behind the United Stakes. If Lidari puts in a performance similar to those runs, he’ll be hard to beat.
