Blue and gold army primed for Sandown showdown

The OTI colours will be represented by three progressive prospects at this afternoon’s twilight Sandown Lakeside meeting.

Co-trainer Robbie Griffiths has confirmed that impressive last start winner Yosemite is in fantastic order ahead of her second-up contest over 1300m (Race 5 – 4:50 pm). Griffiths expects the exciting daughter of Redwood to measure up to Benchmark 64 level, saying that the extra 100m will prove beneficial to her chances.

From barrier four, we are confident Jamie Mott can secure a midfield run with cover and produce our talented filly with a perfectly timed run.

We have two leading chances engaged in a wide-open Benchmark 64 affair (Race 6 – 5:25 pm).

Trainer Phillip Stokes is extremely happy with Blue Ocean ahead of his 2100m assignment, declaring that the consistent four-year-old is ready to bounce back from his disappointing last start performance.

We have the utmost faith in our galloper’s ability and expect leading apprentice Will Price to give him every chance to show his true potential, despite drawing awkwardly in barrier nine.

The Matt Cumani-trained Trench Warfare is also trending in the right direction for this event. The capable chestnut will appreciate stepping out in distance fourth up, and we expect to see him find the line with intent.

Billy Egan has been instructed to ride the son of Pentire cold from barrier six, before producing a strong run down the middle of the Lakeside surface.

We wish connections the best of luck!
