Belthil returns with a Bang

It was a winning return from Belthil on Saturday at Geelong as the 5yo son of Telperion stormed home on the inside of the track with Tom Prebble in the saddle.

Belthil wins the St Pat’s Cup at Geelong on Saturday

Coming into the race after two trials, Belthil proved to be too strong over 1412m in the St Pat’s Cup (BM70). The race was a qualifier for the Country Trainers Series Final at Yarra Valley at the end of March, but trainer Andrew Bobbin wants to keep his options open.

“We will nominate for the final, but he would carry the top weight. We also have the option of the Warracknabeal Cup the day after over 1600m. We will look at both races and decide closer to the day. So far, we have only tried him up to a mile, but I think he could get to 2000m and be very competitive.” Bobbin said in an update to owners.

We look forward to the preparation ahead with Belthil and are hopeful he can feature in some exciting autumn races. Congratulations again to all connections involved on Saturday’s win!
