OTI was thrilled to secure four aspiring racehorses from the recent Arqana Breeze Up Sale, with two set to to Australia immediately and two to remain in Europe with their newly-assigned northern hemisphere trainers.
One of those coming to Australia is Pepples, a 2yo filly by Cracksman out of the stakes performed mare Peace of Paris. Consigned at Arqana by one of Ireland‘s most respected educators in Grove Stud, she is scheduled to join the stables of Annabel Neasham in June.
Terry Henderson, who was on hand in Deauville to watch the hammer come down, was excited by her acquisition. “She is a most athletic type. She was quite green early in her breeze, but settled into her stride over the last 100m. Her last portion was run in fast time – a very good indicator. Pepples is a strong, beautifully balanced filly that appears to have all the attributes of a quality middle-distance performer”.
Cracksman, a son of the outstanding Frankel, is creating a significant impression as a stallion. He has already registered 6 stakes wins in his first two years at stud. His racing career included 8 wins from just 11 starts, six at Group level!
The dam side is a very strong, German-based family, who contains numerous stakes winners, with most of the better members of the family being prolific between 1600m-2400m.
