Knightlaila, the son of Decorated Knight, was able to bring home a win first up over 1600m yesterday at Gowran Park, Ireland.
It was his first start for both OTI and trainer Johnny Murtagh, and it turned out to be a successful one. Following two placings under his previous ownership, it was exciting to get him across the finish line first.
After having to work his way through the field, Knightlaila was strong on the line and won well. Now that he has more race experience and is stronger, he is only going to improve.
Knightlaila moved to the Murtagh stable only recently and had impressed him, albeit that a win first up was a touch surprising. Johnny has no doubt that there is a great deal of improvement to come.
We can look forward to a bright future with him.
