Loresho one of three racing on Saturday

After an impressive win by Angelic Spirit at Sale on Wednesday, our attention turns to Saturday, where we will saddle up three runners in two states.

Loresho kicks things off for us in a 2000m race at Flemington, which commences at 1:20pm (AEST). The talented French import came to Australia with an impressive CV, although has been unable to replicate his strong form since arriving in Australia, off a long injury break.  It is very pleasing to see him at the racetrack and we still have very high expectations for him when gets out to journeys of 2400m +.  Jockey Jye Mcneil will take the ride this week and 54kg’s from barrier 4.   We have noted improvement from him in each run and expect him to change to us that pattern here on Saturday.

We then make the trek up north to see Count of Lemonade run at Randwick over 2400m at 2:15pm (AEST). The Avoca Cup winner from two years ago has been building up this campaign and he should enjoy the 2400m this Saturday. The track is currently rated a Heavy 8 which should also suit him, as his better performances have been on rain affected tracks. Tim Clarke takes the ride and will be jumping from barrier 4 with 57kg’s.  Stripping fitter from his previous two runs, we now need to see a much better showing from him in a race where the conditions suit.

The last of our weekend runners is last-start winner Azurite back at Flemington, in a 2500m Handicap at 2:30pm (AEST).  Getting out to his preferred distance at Sandown, it was nice to see the former Irish galloper get his first win in Australia.  Since that win, he has had a quick freshen up which he seems to be relishing, as prior to his win he had a three-week break between the run. Jordan Childs has retained the ride and he will be jumping from the widest gate in 16, carrying 59.5kg’s. After getting his first win down under, we will be hoping he can make it back to back wins for his connections, in what should be a very competitive race.

Good luck to all connections involved.
