- WYMARK (trained by Gavin Bedggood)
The winner will be crowned at the bet365 Country Racing Victoria Awards night, which will be held on Saturday August 22 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, where more than 600 club and industry participants will gather to celebrate the memorable moments from the season.
All professional race clubs throughout Victoria were given the opportunity to vote, with the three horses compiling the most votes in a competitive category across the 2025/26 racing season.
WYMARK
He may have only contested three races on the Victorian Country circuit during the 2025/26 season, but Wymark certainly made a big impression.
Competing in the famous OTI Racing silks, Wymark was well-supported when placing third behind New York Hurricane in the $100,000 Wangaratta Cup in February.
The Savabeel gelding then went to Yarra Valley on March 15, where he turned the tables on New York Hurricane to score in the hands of Beau Mertens.
The five-year-old’s country season concluded at Stawell, where Will Gordon took off a long way from home in the $80,000 Cup over 2000 metres. Wymark was tough to the line, scoring by one length to make it back-to-back Cup triumphs within the space of three weeks.
