Wicklow Lass is a Christmas treat

With the blend of a quality female pedigree and proven performance, mixed with a trainer boasting the state’s highest strike rate, Wicklow Lass adds a most exciting new flavour to the OTI stable leading into Christmas.

As a 2yo bred to run middle distances, the daughter of Belardo (by Lope de Vega) has the potential to feature in the three-year old filly classics. In so many ways she resembles OTI’s Guineas winning filly, Aloisia, who went onto be a most valuable broodmare.

Wicklow Lass arrives to Australia with the experience of two trials under her belt. In both, over short journeys, she has impressed. She was strong through the line, a suggestion that she will be superior at distances from 1600m and upwards.

Wicklow Lass finishes 3rd in her most recent NZ trial in November

The finishing touches on this filly will be made by Tom Dabernig at Warrnambool. Tom, who excels with fillies, is the perfect trainer to ensure she reaches her potential. With a seasonal strike rate of 26.67%, he brings a wealth of experience from his time at Lindsay Park.

Wicklow Lass has all the ingredients to prove an excellent acquisition and an exciting prospect for 2022.
