Vardani returns at The Valley on Friday

Vardani returns to the track second up on Friday at The Valley on Manikato Stakes night.

The son of Charm Spirit has certainly made a name for himself after securing four wins last preparation, including the Stony Creek Cup. He also won a BM70 at The Valley and continued on to win a BM82 at Morphettville in his last start before heading out for a well deserved break.

The gelding returned in late September at Sandown over 1400m to kick off his next preparation. Obviously better suited over further distance, we haven’t seen the best of him this time in as he slowly progresses towards longer races.

Trainer Archie Alexander says “He finished his gallop very strongly in the last 400m and is certainly going well. Hopefully we can miss a bit of the rain before Friday night, but he is in good order.”

Vardani will start in the BM84 over 1700m with John Allen booked to ride. See all race details and the full field here.

A winner over 1700m at Warrnambool last preparation, he will be better again third up over further. The aim after Friday’s race is to go towards the 1800m on Oaks Day at Flemington and 16 days later into the Ballarat Cup over 2000m.

Best of luck to all involved for Friday’s race!
