Trial Tuesday with Price/Kent

It was a promising Monday morning at the Cranbourne trials with four of our horses, all trained by the Price Kent team, delivering good performances in readiness for their next racing campaigns.

Trial 13 over 1000m featured both Kooky and The Creator. 4yo mare Kooky finished 4th after she jumped well, relaxed and worked through the line well. Pat Moloney, who rode Kooky, mentioned she will take good improvement from it and was very happy with her performance. She is likely to get to the races next week at either Pakenham or Geelong.

The Creator finished 3rd ahead of Kooky in the Price Kent stable colours (navy blue and white) with Ethan Brown in the saddle.

“He jumped good, travelled lovely throughout and continued to build up well to hit the line strong. There was good speed in the trial and he will take great improvement from today.” said Brown afterwards.

The 4yo will most likely kick off his campaign at Pakenham on Friday week.

Later on, in trial 17, Hezashocka and Warmonger each completed their second jump out over 1200m. G1-placed gelding Hezashocka won the trial in good fashion and had plenty left to give after crossing the line. He will most likely make his way up to Sydney to go first up in the Group 2 Ajax Stakes over 1500m.

Warmonger finished 2nd behind his stable mate, with both horses clearing out on their opposition.

“He responded well to what the rider asked of him, relaxed well enough and hit the line strong. He had a bit of a blow and it will tighten him up perfectly for his first up assignment.”, commented racing manager Tom Sheahan.

Warmonger could kick off over 1400m in a BM78 at Sandown in a couple weeks, before possibly heading over to Adelaide for the Port Adelaide Guineas and SA Derby later in the preparation.

With plenty of promising trial performances we now look forward to see all four horses return to the races in the upcoming few weeks.
