Sober Set for Cheltenham as OTI Eyes Ambitious International Campaign

Sober is out to make it four wins from four starts since being purchased by OTI Racing and partners and transferred to the stable of champion Irish trainer Willie Mullins.

Already, the horse has rewarded his new connections with an outstanding run of success. That sequence includes two victories over jumps, most recently a Grade 2 win as well as an impressive staying performance over 4355 metres at Royal Ascot. So far, his owners are being given a tremendous ride.

His upcoming start at the iconic Cheltenham Festival on Wednesday will mark the opening step in an ambitious international campaign. The plan is to progress from Cheltenham to the famed Royal Ascot meeting and ultimately target the Melbourne Cup.

Should such a path be successfully completed, it would represent another remarkable chapter in the extraordinary training achievements of Mullins, widely regarded as one of the most accomplished trainers in modern racing.

OTI partners have previously enjoyed significant success with Mullins. A few seasons ago, True Self delivered memorable results, winning the Queen Elizabeth Stakes during Melbourne Cup week on two occasions before travelling internationally to claim the Neon Turf Cup over 2000 metres in Riyadh.

Racing with Mullins ensures that OTI owners are part of a global journey, with runners competing at some of the world’s most prestigious meetings. It is an experience that brings excitement across continents and contributes to the growing appeal of international racing.

Aside from Sober, Mullins is expected to saddle more than 30 runners during the week at Cheltenham, and it would be little surprise if he once again finished the festival as leading trainer.
