Quality European galloper to join Busuttin Racing

OTI’s latest European acquisition, Marchons Ensemble, will join the Busuttin Racing stables in December.

OTI recently purchased the three-year-old Pour Moi gelding in Ireland, with the aim to bring him to Australia immediately.

While he is lightly raced, the quality galloper impressed in his European form.

Of his ten starts, he has won two and placed in three races. As a 2yo, he won his second start by 3 ½ lengths in Bellewstown over 1500m. And in his 3yo year, he won impressively on the all-weather track at Dundalk, beating OTI-owned Eaglemont, who is also on his way to Australia.

These promising performances exhibited his talent and appealed to OTI as an exciting galloper to relocate to Australia, considering his preference for racing on top of the ground.

Marchons Ensemble is by 2011 Epsom Derby winner, Pour Moi, who has developed into a serviceable stallion and sired the 2017 Epsom Derby winner Wings of Eagles. On his dam’s side, Sugarformyhoney won 2 races at 1400m and 1600m and is by Dutch Art, a multiple Group 1 producer of sprinter and milers.

OTI’s General Manager Shayne Driscoll is delighted to have secured Marchons Ensemble and is looking forward to racing him with Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young.

“Marchons Ensemble initially caught our eye when he beat Eaglemont at Dundalk in early October, so when the opportunity to acquire him arose we didn’t hesitate,” Driscoll said.

“After doing our due diligence, we recognised his strong preference for firmer ground and thought he would relish racing in Australia.”

“Trent and Natalie have had great success with European imports recently, and we think they’ll be the ideal stable to see him harness his full potential,” he added.

Marchons Ensemble will arrive in Australia in late November, where he will spend a fortnight in quarantine before heading to Busuttin Racing’s Cranbourne stables. Once settled into his new home, he will compete in restricted races before stepping into open class races.
