Price & Kent saddle up for 2025 with Danxia

2024 has been a special year both on and off the track for group one winning trainer, Michael Kent Jnr.

“It’s been a very good year; got married back in March which was really good,” Kent Jnr reflected.

“A couple of big group ones, Warmonger (OTI Racing) and Vibrant Sun, they were fantastic. We’ve opened up our Sydney stable, so it’s been a big year for Price/Kent Racing, and I think this year will be even better.”

Price and Kent Jnr will be out to make an impact at the first Saturday fixture in 2025, where they’ll be represented by Danxia lining up in the final event on the card over 1100m, in what will be the chestnut’s first start since his debut at the end of July.

In form apprentice Jett Stanley will ride Danxia at the light weight of 51kg.

“Obviously, he won on debut at Geelong, he was a colt back then, we thought he’d done enough, so we turned him out and gelded him,” Kent Jnr explained.

“He’s had a very, very simple campaign, he’s done everything right, he’s just come up, his gallops have been kept under wraps, same with both trials, he’s got plenty of speed, just kept him cool.

“He’ll present there in good order; we are deep ending him a little bit; second start in his life into a decent three-year-old handicap where horses like Manolo Bling will be very hard to beat.

“He’s a smart horse, he’s going the right way, he gives us a nice feel.”
